Feedback 2.2.10

Laura, don't forget to evaluate informally your finished project. Next post your audience feedback findings using sharts etc to summarise and reflect on them. You'll need them for the evaluation. You should aim to scan one of your completed questionnaires to illustrate your research.

Final Design

My magazine is aimed at females 16+ and the genre of the magazine is indie. I believe I have been successful in targeting such an audience through use of colours (purple, black, white and pinks) as well as the layout and the information given to my audience. By using a mix of femanine and masculine colours I have targeted a female audience and also matched the indie genre found in magazines today. By using a mixed gender group on my front cover with the female of the group taking lead I have appealed to both the desires of females as well as their needs. The layout of the magazine is both eye catching as well as informative which is what is needed when trying to target any audience as it needs to be both attention seeking and interesting.

Draft Of Magazine Article

Planned Photo Shoot

I planned my photo shoot towards the beginning of designing my magazine. I asked my friend Chloe Grice to be a model in my photos as she is thin (which liked or not is a common theme running through the media these days) and she also knew various members of bands that would also be able to be models in my photos. I later decided on having Chloe and two other boys which she sorted out for me in no time. The two boys I used were called Sam Hunter and Alex Smith. Sam studies music and another college and is also in a band so he had musical equiptment he was happy to use as props in my photo shoot. As I decided on the colour scheme for my magazine I made it clear I wanted their costumes to match my colour scheme so Chloe wore purple and blue whilst Sam wore red and blue. AS Chloe was the lead singer of the band I wanted her to be situated in the middle and at the front of all the photos taken. This looked effective as she was the only girl in the band. It took me until after christmas to get my photos done but I was very pleased with the end result.

Equiptment And Technologies Used

When designing my magazine I used the following equiptment:

1 - Digital camara: I used a digital camara when taking photos of the band I used for my front cover, contents page and double page spread.

2 - In Design: I used In Design when creating my magazine adding photos, writing and decoration where needed.

3 - Photoshop: I used Photoshop when editing and cutting the photos I took for the front cover, contents page and double page spread.

4 - Internet: I used the internet often for most of my research, for access to my blog and to help me find ideas for my magazine.

5 - Various Magazines and Posters: I analysed different magazines and posters, I also looked at the different ways of writing used in magazines which eventually helped me to write my own double page spread.
